CEO Message: State-of-the-Art Senior Living Coming Closer to our Campus

I’m pleased to report that one of the most promising and groundbreaking projects for our Federation is leaping forward. We’re recognizing the 115th reservation of an independent living residence at Sinai Residences of Boca Raton. This state-of-the-art active retirement community will soon bring a vibrant, fulfilling lifestyle for seniors – right here on our Federation’s north campus. Occupying 22 acres with 650,000 square feet of beautifully appointed and landscaped living space, the area’s newest retirement community is a true innovation that will help meet our community’s significant need for quality senior living while generating revenue to support our Federation’s vital mission.

Our Federation serves the highest concentration of elderly Jewish persons of any Jewish Federation in America, along with the second-largest Jewish community in the country. With a mission statement of, “Honoring your heritage, enhancing your future,” Sinai Residences is a highly visible expression of how we continually assess the needs of those around us, and strive to see that they are addressed through high impact solutions.

It’s no wonder we’re moving ahead on track to welcome our new neighbors late in 2015. Responding to the unmistakable need for a Jewish environment where local residents could comfortably and securely age - with the best in care, unsurpassed programming and a sense of community - our lay and professional leadership began the project’s meticulous research and planning in 2007.

Like our Federation, Sinai Residences will care for people today as well as into their future. Should the need arise, as a planned Life Care community, Sinai Residences will guarantee access to a seamless continuum of care - at predictable rates with refundable entry-fee options. The project calls for 237 independent living apartment homes, 48 assisted living apartments, 60 skilled nursing suites and 24 memory support studio suites. Seniors will enjoy a blend of luxurious amenities and services amid independence and privacy, including hospitality, recreational and social services, cultural and academic pursuits, fitness programs, and gourmet dining with kosher accommodations available – amid all our multigenerational campus has to offer.

Sinai Residences is governed apart from the Federation Board, by the Board of Managers of Federation CCRC Development, LLC, an independent, not-for-profit entity owned by the Federation. All of us clearly hold the Federation’s vital mission at the heart of the project: Ellen R. Sarnoff, Chair; Wesley E. Finch, Vice Chair; Matthew C. Levin, Director; Mel Lowell, Treasurer; James Nobil, Director; Barry Podolsky, Secretary; David Galpern, Director. Now that I’m directly involved, I’m even more impressed with the caring, deliberate process of development, and proud of the unrivaled lifestyle and peace of mind we’ll be offering. I thoroughly believe you, too, will be impressed.

So I encourage you to learn more about how Sinai Residences can help your family and our community, at the newly updated website sinairesidences.com or by calling 561.922.7156.

And, as always, I look forward to hearing from you at asktheceo@bocafed.org about innovative ways our community can come together to care for each other and address our critical needs. Together, we’ll develop many more projects to create an even greater community.

B’shalom,

Matthew C. Levin
CEO Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County
