When emergencies strike, volunteer medics in Zichron Yaakov are often the first to arrive, bringing lifesaving care to neighbors in their most critical moments. Through our partnership with United Hatzalah, Federation of South Palm Beach County is helping ensure these medics can continue to respond quickly, safely, and effectively, even under extraordinary conditions.
Following the events of October 7, United Hatzalah identified an urgent and heartbreaking reality. Volunteer medics were responding to medical emergencies while facing rocket fire, missile attacks, and acts of terror. These men and women were putting their own lives at risk to save others.
In response, Federation proudly sponsored advanced medic bags, bulletproof vests, and protective helmets for volunteer responders serving the Zichron Yaakov community. This critical equipment allows medics to provide round-the-clock emergency medical services while being safeguarded to the highest possible standard.
Each medic bag is fully equipped with everything a United Hatzalah volunteer needs to save lives, including splinting and neck stabilization gear, intravenous fluid supplies, infant delivery kits, trauma and hemorrhage control tools, oxygen delivery systems, burn and suction kits, and a defibrillator. This ensures responders are prepared for any emergency, from cardiac arrest to childbirth.

For the medics on the ground, this support is about more than equipment. It is about knowing their community stands with them. In a video prepared for our community, Golan, a United Hatzalah volunteer medic, shares his gratitude to Federation and explains why he chooses to volunteer, even in the most dangerous circumstances. His words are a powerful reminder of the courage, compassion, and commitment that define this lifesaving work.
