Purim, the Jewish holiday commemorating the saving of the Jewish people from destruction in ancient Persia, is more than just a historical event—it’s a celebration of bravery, joy, and community.

Recently, the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County was a proud supporter of several Purim festivities that brought together people of all ages and backgrounds. From superhero-themed parties to inclusive events for people with special needs, Purim celebrations painted the streets with vibrant colors and filled the air with laughter.

PJ Library’s Superhero Soiree

PJ Library® kicked off Purim fun with a Superhero Party at the Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center (JCC). Kids dressed up as superheroes, enjoyed crafts, treats, and met special characters. More than 100 people attended the community event.

Clowning Around with PJ Library®

A special Purim event was organized for children with varying abilities, in partnership with the Schwedelson Special Needs Department at the Adolf and Rose Levis JCC, the Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS), and PJ Library®. Approximately 25 kids enjoyed a magic show, storytelling, and a pizza party.

Friendship House Fun

Federation’s long-standing partner, Friendship House threw a Purim party for 25 families that have members with special needs. Everyone had a blast making hamantaschen and crafts. A highlight of the party was a special performance by talented monkeys!

Purim in the Shuk

Chabad on Campus at FAU, Lynn University and Palm Beach State College organized “Purim in the Shuk,” where 50 students and community members relished a mini-Shuk experience.  Guests offered prayers for the hostages in Gaza and savored authentic Israeli dishes. They also listened to the Megillah reading and danced the night away to lively Israeli Shuk music.

Creating community, celebrating Jewish life, connecting with joy, finding friendship, and honoring wonderful traditions — this is what the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County does — with you! With you, we can spread Purim happiness.
