Boca Raton, FL — The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Announces New Department of Public Affairs and Appointment of Vice President Brandey Edelson

The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County today announced the creation of its Department of Public Affairs, a new division dedicated to strengthening the Federation’s voice in civic life and ensuring the concerns of the Jewish community are represented at the local, state, and national levels. The Federation has appointed Brandey Edelson to serve as Vice President of Public Affairs.
In today’s environment of rising antisemitism, shifting political landscapes, and urgent communal needs, the establishment of a Public Affairs Department underscores the Federation’s commitment to proactive advocacy, coalition-building, and direct engagement with elected officials and community stakeholders. “It is essential that the Jewish community’s voice is heard clearly and effectively by elected officials at every level of government,” said Igor Alterman, President & CEO of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. “Brandey brings the vision, experience, and relationships to ensure that we can advocate forcefully on behalf of our community, build bridges with partners across South Florida, and strengthen our role as a trusted convener and advocate in these critical times.”
Edelson brings more than 12 years of experience in public service, having served alongside two Members of Congress representing South Florida. In that role, she navigated some of the district’s most pressing challenges, built trusted relationships with elected officials and community leaders, and led multimillion-dollar fundraising efforts at both the state and national levels. Beyond her public service, Edelson has been a dedicated leader in the Jewish community, serving as Assistant Director of Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach, where she received the prestigious Hillel International Exemplar of Excellence Award, the organization’s highest honor. Most recently, she concluded her third year as Chair of the Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach Board of Directors, spearheading a $5 million campaign to renovate its FAU campus facility and strengthening efforts to combat antisemitism on college campuses.
A graduate of Florida Atlantic University and an alumna of the prestigious Wexner Heritage Program, Edelson currently serves on the program’s National Alumni Council. She lives in Boca Raton with her husband, Ryan, and their son, Jesse.
