Jewish Boca Delegation

Last month, members of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate for policies that strengthen the safety and security of our Jewish community. Through meetings with members of Congress, our delegation shared the concerns of Jewish Boca, highlighted the realities facing our community, and urged action on critical security priorities.

Today, we are encouraged to see meaningful progress.

We are grateful to Congresswoman Lois Frankel for helping secure an additional $40 million increase for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) in the House Appropriations Committee’s Fiscal Year 2027 funding proposal. If approved, the proposal would bring total NSGP funding to $355 million — the highest level ever advanced out of committee. These funds are essential in helping synagogues, Jewish schools, community centers, and other nonprofits implement the security measures needed to keep their communities safe.

We also thank Congresswoman Lois Frankel and Congressman Jared Moskowitz for joining the introduction of the bipartisan Jewish American Security Act. The legislation would establish new protections for Jewish students on college campuses, strengthen security programs for synagogues and nonprofit organizations, improve federal tracking of antisemitic incidents, and increase transparency surrounding antisemitic content on large online platforms.

These developments are a powerful reminder that advocacy matters. Showing up matters. Building relationships matter.

When community members take the time to travel to Washington and share their experiences directly with elected officials, it makes a difference. We are proud to advocate on behalf of Jewish Boca and grateful for the partnership and leadership of Congresswoman Frankel and Congressman Moskowitz in advancing policies that help keep Jewish communities safe.

Together, we will continue working to ensure our community remains strong, secure, and prepared for the future.
