King David Society 2024
On Tuesday, March 12, The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County hosted an extraordinary evening with Lt. Aston Bright, South Florida native, passionate voice for Israel and a dedicated local firefighter who recently returned from his second tour of duty imbedded with the IDF in Gaza.
Following the October 7th terrorist attacks, Aston worked alongside Israeli firefighters and the Israel Defense Forces to respond to emergencies and provide support to those affected by the violence. These latest experiences culminate years of advocacy fighting antisemitism and anti zionism, including addressing the European parliament on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. His inspiring discussion stressed the importance of being an ally to the Jewish people and grassroots efforts to disseminate truthful accounts of 10/7 and Israel’s history to non-Jewish audiences.
The King David Society recognizes exemplary donors who have contributed $25,000 or more to the UJA/Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Annual Campaign. This prestigious giving level brings together deeply committed philanthropists for meaningful learning, celebratory and travel opportunities. Their generosity provides the critical assistance to build, protect and grow our local and worldwide Jewish communities.
The event was graciously hosted by Debra and Larry Halperin, and Chaired by Karen & Mark Dern.
