WELCOME LIONS!
Dear South Palm Beach County Lions:
We hope you are all set for the 2022 International Lion of Judah Conference, and you are ready to be part of this creative, intellectually stimulating experience. We’re all very excited to share the next few days together in Arizona, joining with fellow LIONS from all over the world. We are looking forward to gathering with pride to learn about and address a wide range of issues that affect our people.
Every single one of you has the opportunity to change the world. We’re counting on YOU to inspire others to support the critical needs we address at home and abroad. Let’s enjoy this stellar conference, each other’s company, become inspired and return home empowered to put our experiences and learning into action with new, invigorated passion!
We hope you love your new pashminas! They are a good way to identify each other, so please bring yours to the plenary sessions and meals. We will make every effort to save seats. We thank you-our most valued leaders and wonderful donors. It has been a pleasure planning this conference and we look forward to this special time together.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Ginsburg & Beth Mishkin, ILOJC Recruitment Co-Chairs

A longtime Federation leader, April Leavy currently serves as the Chair of the Federation’s Partnership2Gether Joint Steering Committee, is a member of the Federation Board, and sits on the Israel & Overseas Task Force. She currently serves as a trustee representing South Palm Beach County for Jewish Federations of North America. April has served our Federation and community in many capacities over the last 30 years. She chaired Women’s Philanthropy for the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County from 2016 to 2018 after serving as Women’s Philanthropy Campaign Chair and Lion of Judah Chair. She is now a member of the National Women’s Philanthropy Board. Locally, she has previously been a Federation Vice Chair, Secretary and Executive Committee member, Israel@60 Community Mission Co-Chair and Young Adult Division Co-President. As a leader at Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center, April currently serves as Vice Chair of Financial Resource Development. Her other portolios at the J were, Vice President of Board Engagement and, Co-Chair of the Hanadiv Event. In 2020, April & Roger received the Sandler Hanadiv Crystal Award. She has further served the community as Donna Klein Jewish Academy Ball Chair and a B’nai Torah Congregation Board Member.
A proud recipient of both the James and Marjorie Baer Outstanding Young Leadership Award and the Dorothy P. Seaman Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Award, April states that her biggest accomplishment is her ability to “bring voice to my passion about the work I have done.” Wishing that everyone would learn by her model and become philanthropic, April says, “Philanthropy wasn’t something I got at home growing up, but rather something I learned about later in life by others’ examples.”
April claims her husband, Roger, and her daughter, Alex, now married to Joel, who have always supported her involvement at Federation and other causes, are instrumental to her success as a leader. She is the Co-Owner and Vice President of Marketing, Design and Product Development for Tassel Depot, the world’s leading manufacturer of graduation, bookmark, program tassels and elastics, as well as their Promos by TD Division. For her big birthday, Roger facilitated the creation of National Graduation Tassel Day on the National Calendar, which is now celebrated by thousands of people nationwide.
