In times of adversity, the true strength of a community is demonstrated through acts of resilience, compassion, and unity. Your donations to our Israel Emergency Fund are being channeled to more than 60 of Federation’s established partner agencies in Israel, including United Hatzalah, Beit Issie Shapiro, and the Jewish Agency for Israel. All of their work is helping the people of Israel rebuild and recover from Hamas’ deadly attacks. Thank you for standing by their side and giving generously to assist them.

United Hatzalah

United Hatzalah, a volunteer emergency medical service operating across Israel, mobilized all 7,000 of its volunteers and dispatched more than 120 rescue vehicles to Israel’s southern region. Their volunteers responded to calls in their own neighborhoods, risking their own lives, to ensure that IDF personnel and civilians received critical emergency medical treatment. United Hatzalah continues to provide emergency medical response, community assistance, medical training for community security groups, and more. They are also supplying the IDF with medical supplies and emergency vehicles. With the help of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, United Hatzalah is able to purchase essential emergency medical supplies to respond to ongoing attacks.

Beit Issie Shapiro

Beit Issie Shapiro, a leader and innovator in the field of disabilities in Israel, is providing therapy, respite, emotional support, and coping tools to people with disabilities in their facilities and across Israel. A mother and her 3-year-old daughter, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, struggled to navigate days of rocket attacks, as her husband served in the South, before they found Beit Issie Shapiro in Ra’anana. They visited the sensory room, where the girl’s mother mentioned that her daughter is non-verbal and barely vocalizes, but noticed that she began to mumble, especially near the bubble machine. Her mother also expressed concerns about her daughter missing her special education in Ashkelon. The therapist found a place for her daughter in Beit Issie’s DeLowe Early Intervention Center and now her daughter is receiving everything she needs in a secure, loving environment, leaving one less thing for her  to worry about.

Jewish Agency for Israel

The Jewish Agency for Israel operates absorption centers for new Olim (immigrants) to Israel throughout the country which offer a “soft landing” for families and adults at the beginning of their acculturation process in Israel. Over 1,000 Olim from the south and the north have been evacuated to safer areas and are feeling the psychological impact of running for shelter from rockets. Respite activities are being organized for the children and teens to provide entertainment for them and allow the parents to have a few moments for themselves. One thousand tablets were also delivered to Olim children, so that they can participate in virtual learning to continue with their studies.

Every day, we witness the tangible differences we’re making in the lives of thousands impacted by the war in Israel. We extend our gratitude to our generous community for their support and urge you to join us in contributing to the Israel Emergency Campaign, ensuring that 100 percent of the funds raised will directly benefit our partner agencies in Israel.
