The summer camp experience is an integral part of Jewish culture, allowing children to come together and forge lifelong bonds with other members of the community in a fun and enriching setting. This summer, the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County helped provide an incredible summer camp experience for hundreds of children in the community.
Check out what they’ve been up to this summer, thanks to your generosity!
Levis JCC Marleen Forkas Summer Camp:
The Levis JCC Marleen Forkas Summer Camp offered unique activities for campers of all ages, offering both an Early Childhood Camper experience and an Upper Camp experience. Campers had non-stop fun all summer with activities like go-karts, science experiments, trapeze acts, archery, sports, and more.
“Our children are so incredibly happy and having the summer of their lives. After 15 months at home, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. You’ve turned the light in their hearts back on, and it is shining bright!” – Aurélia, Upper Camp Parent.
Marleen Forkas Camp Kavod:
At Camp Kavod, South Florida’s premier day camp for children and teens with special needs, activities are carefully crafted to boost social, motor, language, and essential life skills among the campers. One of the many reasons Camp Kavod is incredible, is because they create opportunities for special needs campers to build new friendships while having fun in a secure, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere. This summer, campers had a blast with bounce houses, snow cone parties, and a wide range of exciting sporting activities!
Camp Keshet:
Thanks to a generous grant from the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, Camp Keshet has provided an unforgettable experience for 130 campers this summer. Campers participated in range of exciting activities, including weekly field trips, visits to the waterpark and playground, and even a new garden that the children are tending to.
One of the highlights of each week is “Campfire Shabbat,” where the entire camp gathers in a circle around a staged campfire to sing camp and Shabbat songs.
Billi Marcus Camp Nageela Boca:
At Camp Nageela Boca, opportunities to learn about Jewish heritage, values, and traditions, are woven into daily activities to empower campers with a strong sense of Jewish pride and community.
Thanks to generous donors like you, no child is turned away due to financial restraints. Federation’s help provided several scholarships for campers this summer where they had an action-packed summer doing arts and crafts, visiting trampoline parks, and even going to petting zoos.
The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is honored to be able to provide this experience to hundreds of campers this summer, and we are deeply grateful for the generous support from individuals who make it all possible. With you, we can create cherished memories and empower the next generation within our community!
