Brothers Hal and Aaron Klein have devoted themselves to the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. Hal, and his wife Talia, have held various leadership positions and been actively involved for over 25 years, participating in programs such as the Young Leadership Division, Super Sunday, Israel and Overseas, Partnership2Gether, March of the Living and From March to Miriam and Donna Klein Jewish Academy. Aaron and his wife Miriam have made community involvement a central part of their daily lives, engaging in activities like the March of the Living, Young Women’s Philanthropy, From March to Miriam, and PJ Library.
Aaron’s dedication to the March of the Living stems from his experience caring for Holocaust survivors in his medical practice and the influence of his parents, who instilled in him a love for the Jewish Federation. In 2017, Aaron convinced Hal to join him on the adult bus and both have been inspired ever since. In April 2023, Hal and Aaron volunteered to staff the student buses – Hal as Bus Captain and Aaron as the physician.
Hal emphasizes the transformative nature of the experience. “Visiting Israel after Poland provides a different perspective and deepens your appreciation for our Jewish homeland,” he said. He encourages others to seize the opportunity, describing the act of singing Hatikvah in Majdanek as an incredibly meaningful experience.
Aaron’s advice to those considering the March of the Living is simple: “Just do it!” He believes participating in the March of the Living helps shape individuals into better people and better Jews. “We live in a time of increasing antisemitism and Holocaust denial. To learn about the Shoah from a book is one thing, but to go to the sites in person is something you will never forget. You will be able to teach your children and grandchildren,” he said.
Through their involvement in the Jewish community and participation in the March of the Living, Hal and Aaron exemplify a deep commitment to our Jewish community, Jewish identity, and the preservation of Jewish heritage.
