Federation to Kick off 2020 Annual Campaign at “Live Your Passion” Opening Event Featuring Jesse Itzler and David Moore
The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is kicking off its 2020 Annual Campaign with an event like no other. Themed “Live Your Passion,” the event will bring together a vibrant, diverse group of adults of all ages who support the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. Together, they’ll celebrate all the good they do and get even more inspired and motivated for the year ahead with two dynamic, engaging and entertaining headliners - friends Jesse Itzler and David Moore, who truly live their passion throughout their lives. More than 600 are expected at THE OPENING EVENT at B'nai Torah Congregationin Boca Raton on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Last year’s event raised $1 million.
The festivities for this eighth annual season kickoff will start at 6:00 pm with cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres and connections among friends and colleagues old and new. The program will begin at 7:00 pm, featuring Jesse Itzler, former rapper, extreme endurance athlete, best-selling author, wildly successful entrepreneur and Co-founder of Marquis Jet, as well as David Moore Chairman and CEO of Moore Holdings, Chair of the Board of UJA Federation of New York, Atlanta Hawks Co-owner, and professional Stand-Up Comedian. Jennifer & Brad Berkowitz and Miriam & Dr. Aaron Klein are the evening’s co-chairs.

I hope that all of us will be moved to be as generous and giving as our speakers.” Guests will also experience a moving, multimedia look at the powerful difference the Federation makes for those in need here in South Palm Beach County, in Israel and beyond. “At our Opening Event each year, we ignite a passion for philanthropy that brings out the best in all of us, throughout our diverse community,” said Debra Halperin, Chair of the 2020 Campaign and who, with her husband, Dr. Larry Halperin, chaired the first Opening Event eight years ago. “This annual event celebrates the generosity of our community, and we are looking forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming newcomers to join us in kicking-off a new season of giving with an evening of fabulous fun and high energy that will inspire us to continue to do good work together.”

A minimum household contribution of $500 to the 2020 Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Annual Campaign is required to attend. About Jesse Itzler Jesse Itzler only eats fruit until noon, loves Run-D.M.C., and enjoys living life “out of the box," actually, he doesn't even have a box. He cofounded Marquis Jet, the world’s largest prepaid private jet card company in 2001, which he and his partner sold to Berkshire Hathaway/NetJets. He then partnered with Zico coconut water, which they sold to The Coca-Cola Company in 2013. He is a former rapper on MTV and he produced and sang both the NBA’s Emmy Award-winning “I Love This Game” music campaign and the popular New York Knicks anthem “Go NY Go.” Itzler is also the author of Living With a SEAL (New York Times Bestseller, #1 LA Times, #1 Amazon, #1 iTunes audiobook) and Living With the Monks. When he's not out training for his next 100-mile run or being a dad, Jesse can be found at the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks games, where he is an owner of the team. About David Moore David Moore is Chairman and CEO of Moore Holdings, which invests in and manages a variety of private companies, and is a partner in Sonostar Ventures, LLC, an investor in start-ups and public securities. He is currently chairman and majority owner of six Renewal by Andersen replacement window businesses. David is also a part-owner of the Atlanta Hawks NBA Basketball Club. Moore is involved in a variety of philanthropic activities. He is currently Chairof the Board of UJA-Federation of New York. He has had long-standing involvement with the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services (now called the Jewish Board). Additionally, Moore is involved in a wide range of educational, socialservice, and communal organizations. He’s also a professional standup comedian, performing regularly at Carolines on Broadway and Gotham Comedy Club in NYC! In June 2019, he received the Saul Z. Cohen Leadership Award from the Jewish Board, in 2012 he was honored by the City Parks Foundation at their Annual Gala at Gracie Mansion, and he is the youngest alum of Amherst College to have received the College’s Medal for Eminent Service. Moore received a BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Amherst College and an MBA from Harvard University. He lives in NYC with his wife and two children.
