Super Sunday and PJ Library® LEGO Family Mitzvah Project on March 15

Super Sunday and PJ Library® LEGO Family Mitzvah Project on March 15

Caring volunteers and families will get into the spirit of Good Deeds Day a couple weeks early this year at the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, with two great ways to make a difference on March 15. Volunteers will be making calls in the annual Super Sunday Phone-a-thon, and families will join PJ Library® for a LEGO Mitzvah Project. By participating, they’ll all be part of the millions of Good Deeds Day volunteers from 108 countries around the world doing good deeds to improve lives and the world.

Once again, the phones will ring throughout the Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Highland Beach areas from the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. Hundreds of volunteers will be making calls to connect with thousands of community members during the annual Super Sunday phone-a-thon. They’ll be offering everyone the opportunity to join in Federation’s incredible work of seeing that, whenever and wherever our Jewish family needs us – from down the street to Israel and all across the globe - our community is there to help.
Amid terrific camaraderie in a festive atmosphere, breakfast, snacks, dinner and raffle prizes including a large television donated by Hotwire Communications will make the day fun. From newcomers to seasoned callers, volunteers are asked to sign up for shifts from 9:30 am-11:30 pm or 4:00-6:30 pm. Teens can receive community service hours for their volunteer time. They’ll gather in a lively, transformed Zinman Hall on the Federation campus at 9901 Donna Klein Boulevard, Boca Raton. “Call. Connect. Community is a terrific theme for this year’s Super Sunday,” said the day’s Co-Chair, Jeff Bovarnick. It’s a day of engaging our neighbors in conversation, educating them about our Federation’s critical work, and giving them the opportunity to make a vital difference here, in Israel and around the world for our Jewish family in need near and far. And with a $25,000 match from the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation for all new or increased donations, volunteers can see the results of their efforts double!”
“This is the day to join with others to make an impact greater than any one of us alone can achieve,” added his Co-Chair, Tracy Kawa. “There’s nothing like the feeling of coming together from across our community to do all the good we can. Especially with the challenges facing our people today, it is more important than ever for of all us to work together and contribute.”

Families will also care for the community with a LEGO theme at the Federation on March 15.  The PJ Library® Family Mitzvah Project will bring families together from 2:00 – 3:30 pm. They are asked to bring their PJ Library or other tzedakah boxes to donate, and they’ll be building their very own LEGO tzedakah boxes, as well as a giant LEGO tzedakah box. Of course they’ll also enjoy games, prizes and more. RSVP is required at jewishboca.org/supersunday. For more information, call 561.852.6080 or email  pjlibrary@bocafed.org
“Families are invited to join PJ Library® for a Good Deeds Day project everyone will enjoy,” said PJ Library Co-Chair Miriam Klein. “We are thrilled to offer our LEGO Mitzvah Project among our many PJ opportunities for young families to get together and celebrate, learn, socialize, have fun and share their values throughout the year.”
Super Sunday is generously sponsored by Hotwire Communications. Atlas Event Rental is the In-Kind Sponsor, ESPN West Palm is Media Sponsor, and Boca Magazine is the Exclusive Magazine Sponsor. Everyone is invited to become a Telephone Sponsor at $100 per phone or twelve phones for $1,000.
