Federation to Fete Top Women Donors with Renee Taylor
An afternoon of laughter, warm companionship and private time with renowned actress/comedian Renee Taylor is in store for some of our community’s most caring, generous women. The new “Just for You” series debuts on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 3:00 pm with Taylor’s hilarious one-woman show, My Life on a Diet, presented by the Adolph and Rose Levis Jewish Community Center at the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County - followed by a very special “Conversation and Cocktails” with the performer exclusively for the Federation’s top women donors.
Born in the Bronx as Renee Wechsler, Taylor may be best known as Sylvia, outspoken mother of Fran Drescher’s character in the TV series, The Nanny. But this was only one prominent role in Taylor’s ongoing acting and comedy career of more than fifty years on stage, film and television. In addition, with Joseph Bologna, her husband of 47 years, she’s been a hit Broadway writer of Lovers and Other Strangers, and an Academy Award nominated film writer and director.
“Just for You” is especially for women who contribute to the 2013 UJA/Jewish Federation of South Pahttps://www.jewishboca.org/clientuploads/judi wendy 200.jpglm Beach County Annual Campaign at a minimum $10,000 Major Gifts level. A $54 couvert includes both the performance and reception.
“We’re thrilled with this opportunity to show just how much our women who contribute as Major Donors are cherished and appreciated,” said Wendy Pressner, the Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy Campaign Chair. “These are very special times to celebrate all that their generosity accomplishes.”
“We’ve designed two unique, intimate gatherings just for this exceptional sisterhood, to build community with stimulating intellectual and cultural content as well as fun,” said Judi Schuman, Women’s Philanthropy Major Gifts Vice Chair.
“On March 7, ‘Just for You’ will take a more serious turn with a morning of inspiration, learning and brunch at my home,” continued Schuman. “Katya Potapova from the Joint Distribution Center in St. Petersburg, Russia will share her poignant discovery of being Jewish and connecting to her heritage, with a powerful inside view of the critical mission and impact of our Women’s Philanthropy across the globe.”
Wells Fargo Private Bank is the generous sponsor of The Dorothy Seaman Department of Women’s Philanthropy. The “Just for You” series is generously sponsored by Boca Raton Regional Hospital and Ivan & Co. Jewelers. The Boca Raton Observer is Exclusive Magazine Sponsor.
