NJ Nets/Devils Former Owner to Kick Off 2013-14 B&P Industry Icon Series
Business leaders and professionals from throughout the area will have the opportunity to hear from Lewis Katz, former owner of NJ Nets/Devils, amid premium networking on. Katz will kick off the first event of the 2013-14 Industry Icon Series for the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s Business & Professional Division (B&P) on October 16, 2013 from 8:00 -10:00 a.m.
Last season, more than 150 gathered for each of three widely acclaimed Icon Events. Once again, they’ll be gathering in Zinman Hall on the Federation campus, 9901 Donna Klein Blvd., Boca Raton. Breakfast (dietary laws observed) and networking will begin at 8:00 am, and the program will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
A former principal owner of the NJ Nets and NJ Devils and a past member of the NBA board of governors, Katz is a current shareholder of the Nets, the NY Yankees and the YES Network. He is also a managing partner of a new company that operates The Philadelphia Inquirer and other area media and the Director of the Katz Foundation, which supports charitable, educational and medical causes.

The season’s Industry Icon Series will continue on November 21, 2013 with Jeffrey Bleustein, former CEO of Harley Davidson; on January 29, 2014 with Florine Mark, CEO of Weight Watchers Group; and on March 26, 2014 with Stephen Sadove, CEO of Saks Fifth Avenue.
