Miami Marlins President David P. Samson to Share Insights at B&P Industry Icon Event

Amid premium networking, business leaders and professionals will have the opportunity to hear from Miami Marlins President David P. Samson at the 2015-16 season’s third Lewis Katz Industry Icon Series event. Samson will share his intriguing stories and insights on Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016, at the breakfast gathering for the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s Business & Professional Division (B&P).

Well over 100 local professionals attended each of the past three seasons’ widely acclaimed Industry Icon events and they’ll gather once again in Zinman Hall on the Federation campus at 9901 Donna Klein Blvd. in Boca Raton. Breakfast will be served (dietary laws observed) and networking will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the program will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. The couvert for the morning is $36 per person.

President of the Miami Marlins, Samson also presides over the Marlins Foundation, which focuses its efforts on baseball, arts and educational needs of the South Florida community. He concentrates his charitable efforts on helping underprivileged and sick children experience summer camp and improved education and health care.

Samson was named one of Sports Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” for two years running. Some highlights of his life include having been the first active team president to complete the Ford Ironman World Championship Triathlon and one of 18 contestants on the 28th season of Survivor™. Samson also starred as Lorne Michaels in the 2014 production entitled Not Ready for Primetime detailing the beginnings of Saturday Night Live.

Samson’s industry insights and philanthropic expertise will be of high interest and great value to all attendees across B&P members' broad range of industries and professions. This Icon Event continues to exemplify the premier quality of speakers in the B&P Division’s fourth season; Samson follows Royal Caribbean CEO, Richard Fain; and Chairman & CEO of Georgia Aquarium Michael Leven, who spoke earlier in 2015-16. The 2015-16 Industry Icon Series is co-chaired by Becky Lightman and Ken Lebersfeld.

In just over three years, the B&P Division, co-chaired by Kathy Green and Eric Lebersfeld, has built a diverse community of business leaders and professionals who gather regularly to make meaningful professional and personal connections through high-level networking opportunities, informative programs with industry experts and philanthropic activities that are good for business as well as our community.
