JCRC to Feature “What is Next for Israel and America? Assessing the Past to Secure Our Future” with Middle East Expert, Laura Blumenfeld

The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is pleased to present a free informative program featuring Laura Blumenfeld, a Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic Studies at the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies, and a best-selling author. Her topic will be “What is Next for Israel and America? Assessing the Past to Secure Our Future.”

Blumenfeld will speak on Wednesday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. in Zinman Hall, on the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County campus, 9901 Donna Klein Blvd., in Boca Raton.

Having seen the Israeli-Arab conflict from all angles for more than two decades, Blumenfeld covered the conflict for The Washington Post, The New York Times and The New Yorker. She was living in a Palestinian village when the intifada broke out, working in Amman when the Gulf War broke out, and most recently served as Senior Policy Advisor on Secretary of State Kerry’s Israeli-Palestinian negotiating team before last year’s Gaza War.

“We are extremely pleased to offer our community the opportunity to hear from Laura Blumenfeld on a topic of such urgent concern to our Jewish community,” said Jill Rose, Co-Chair of the JCRC. “We encourage everyone to join us in what is sure to be a riveting presentation on Israel’s past, present and future, and the complex, vital relationship between Israel and the United States.”

“Together, we will find out what Blumenfeld has learned through her many years of research, reporting and policy work, and what lessons she can now share with the American Jewish community about the best way forward for Israel and for all,” added Andrew Robins, JCRC Co-Chair.

The program is free of charge to the public, but attendees must RSVP by clicking on jewishboca.org/whatsnext to register. Separate registration is requested for each individual attending. Also please note that a valid driver's license must be presented at the Guard Gate for entry onto Federation's campus.
