Estate Professionals to Honor Marjorie A. Horwin at Irving Eckhardt Mitzvah Society Reception
Local estate planning professionals committed to the Jewish community’s future will celebrate their 2020 Honoree, Marjorie A. Horwin, CPA, at the annual Irving Eckhardt Mitzvah Society Cocktail Reception on February 19, 2020. Over 16 years, the Mitzvah Society has inaugurated 78 professionals who have guided their clients to establish charitable legacies through the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation (JJCF) of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County.
The Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) of the JJCF, and the event’s co-chairs, David Pratt and Richard Steinberg, invite colleagues, friends and others to honor Horwin at Temple Beth El of Boca Raton, starting at 6:00 pm with cocktails and dinner (Jewish dietary laws observed).
“Marjorie exemplifies why our PAC is so important. Professionals like Marjorie are in a unique position to help clients accomplish their philanthropic goals while, at the same time, strengthening the Jewish community; she does this regularly” said David Pratt, founder of the Mitzvah Society and a past chair of the PAC and the Foundation.
Treasurer of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and a past chair of the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation, Richard Steinberg added, “The growth of the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation is key to our community’s current success and future stability. Marjorie was one of the early members of the PAC and works collaboratively with other PAC members to ensure the Foundation’s assets continue to increase.”
Marjorie is the managing principal of the MBAF office serving Palm Beach County, and principal-in-charge of the Private Wealth Services group. She has practiced in income, estate, trust, and exempt organization tax planning and compliance for more than three decades, with a focus on family wealth preservation. Marjorie has held a variety of leadership roles at JJCF and Federation, including member of PAC for 17 years, and its chair for three, and Mitzvah Society member since 2010.
“Marjorie’s tireless efforts are driven by her commitment to the well-being and security of our community for generations to come, while facilitating her clients’ financial and philanthropic goals,” said JJCF Chair Laurence I. Blair. “Along with her leadership and guidance, her personal contributions and MBAF corporate sponsorship, she is a shining example for our community’s professionals.”
The couvert is $85 for PAC members or $100 for others. Online RSVP is available at jewishboca.org/mitzvahsociety, or contact 561.852.6027 or StaceyL@bocafed.org to register or for more information.
