Gotta Love the 80s at Season’s Premier Event for Young Jewish Adults on May 18

In a neon-lit lounge atmosphere with the sounds of Duran Duran, Kiss, Motley Crue and even Boy George spun by DJs from Miami’s ULTRA Music Festival, and a live performance by Bounce. . . amid Simply Irresistible 80s Chic wear, big hair and the finest in young company, I Love the 80s on May 18, 2013 is sure to be the season’s premier night out for young Jewish couples and singles in their 20s to early 40s. Starting at 8:30 pm at Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center, 201 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, the evening will also feature throw-back cocktails and desserts, with dietary laws observed.

“Our guests will know they’re in for an amazing night from the moment they step into the DeLorean “photo booth” to get snapped for mementos, and into the neon lounge we’re creating,” said Margo Schneider, who is co-chairing the evening with her husband Brett and with Andrea and Jesse Lieberman.

“When they register online at www.jewishboca.org/ilovethe80s, they’ll get a preview of 80s fashion to help them remember and get inspired,” added Brett. “They can even request a song with a dedication online to really transport us back to our special younger days.“

I Love the 80s is presented by the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s Young Adult Division, which engages young adults in this vibrant Jewish community through social, business, family, educational, leadership and philanthropic activities.

“Like last spring’s elegant White Party in a penthouse overlooking the ocean and the exciting Blue and White Chanukah Party at the Omphoy, I Love the 80s will change the way young adults look at Jewish events and how they see themselves in the community,” said Jesse Lieberman. “In fact, we are a vital part of this community, and we have an amazing time celebrating our shared identity and having incredible fun together.”

“While I Love the 80s is an open evening of entertainment, we’ll also take the opportunity to raise awareness about how young adults can join in and lend a hand in our Jewish community,” said Andrea. “We all want to feel part of something larger than ourselves, and with YAD we enjoy great times with great people, and help those in need at same time. It’s extraordinarily satisfying.”

Pre-registration couvert is $54 per couple or $36 per individual; charge at the door will be $60 per couple and $40 for individual entry. A $180 minimum gift (payable over one year) to the UJA/Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Annual Campaign is required to attend. Ben Gurion Society with a $1,000+ minimum gift are also invited to a VIP Reception.
