Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak to Keynote Federation’s Leadership Gifts Event

An elegant evening of celebration is planned for premier donors of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. They’ll gather for the Leadership Gifts Event at 6:00 p.m. on December 2, 2015, at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton. The event will feature a lavish cocktail reception and dinner, with an inspiring keynote presentation by Ehud Barak, Former Prime Minister of Israel.

“Our Federation's Leadership Gifts Event is a gathering of the most committed and generous individuals in our community,” said Meryl Gallatin, who is co-chairing the event with her husband, Ron. “It is an honor and privilege for me, as a Prime Minister Council Lion of Judah, to be among so many who choose to make a profound difference in the lives of those less-fortunate both here in South Palm Beach County, Israel and around the world through their extraordinary giving. We set the bar; we lead by example. Together we will celebrate our philanthropy.”

The Federation is honored to offer the generous champions of the community this exclusive opportunity to hear the former Prime Minister address their most vital concerns.

“With terrorist groups on two borders and threats looming throughout the unstable region, there has never before been a time when Israel was not in an ‘active’ war yet facing such dangers,” said Ron. “And there has never been a better time for our Federation’s leading donors to hear from the most highly decorated Israeli war hero, who became Chief of Staff, Defense Minister and Prime Minister: Ehud Barak.”

The Federation’s Ketubah Society Hall of Fame will be on proud display at the event, celebrating 45 donor families who have contributed $1 million or more cumulatively over the history of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s Annual Campaigns. Also celebrated will be the generous members of the Prime Minister’s Council, whose gift to this year’s Annual Campaign is $100,000 or higher, and the King David Society, whose members contribute $25,000 annually.

“The last few years have been extraordinary in the maturation of our Federation, and our leadership donors have been instrumental in our reaching the tipping point,” said Rani Garfinkle, Prime Ministers Council Chair.

“The more I see firsthand the power of our work in this community and around the world, the more I understand how absolutely essential our Federation is to our Jewish family,” said Larry Feldman, Federation’s King David Society Chair and Vice Chair of the Annual Campaign.

“Without us,” continued Feldman, “where could our brothers and sisters turn for the help that sustains their very lives and keeps the light of our heritage burning bright with vital resources, dignity, comfort and hope? The impact made by the compassion and generosity of our leading donors is nothing short of transformational. With this ability comes the responsibility to make the greatest difference possible in the lives of those most vulnerable. Together, with more donors joining us at all levels, we are taking our efforts to the next level for our community and our people.”

The evening’s $150 couvert includes valet parking. Cocktail attire is requested, and dietary laws will be observed. For more information about the Leadership Gifts Event and other Major Gifts opportunities at the Federation, please contact Ida Novack at 561.852.3342 or
