Families Flock to Bedner’s Farm with PJ Library® for Tu B’Shevat
School may have been out but PJ Library® was most certainly in session! More than 400 children, parents and grandparents gathered together on Tu B’Shevat. Monday, January 21 for a morning of fun with PJ Library® in South Palm Beach County at Bedner’s Farm.
The cool, crisp morning included a captivating enactment of the PJ Library® story of Tu B’Shevat, Birthday of the Trees from Amy Weissman (Miss Amy), music and dancing with Rock n’ Roll Rabbi David Paskin, a hayride through the farm and even tomato picking!
“My sons and I had a fabulous time at the PJ Library® program at Bedner’s Farm,” said Yael Geller of Boca Raton, who attended with her children, Benji, age four and Michael, age two. “We loved hearing the story from Miss Amy, the hayride and the tomato picking. Being together with our Jewish friends and making new ones is what PJ Library® programs are all about.”
“All families raising Jewish children from six months through eight years old in South Palm Beach County are invited to sign up for PJ Library® to receive a monthly gift of free high-quality Jewish children’s books and music sent right to their homes,” said Joanna Drowos, local PJ Library® Co-Chair. “And through PJ Our WayTM, tweens ages nine to eleven can choose their own monthly books and engage in a safe, age-appropriate online literary community. It’s easy to sign up.”
“But PJ Library® and PJ Our WayTM not only bring Jewish books into local homes – they also bring the young Jewish community together,” added PJ Library® Co-Chair Miriam Klein. “Families are always getting together with PJ Library® and PJ Our WayTM at events large and small all over the community. Together they enjoy stories, crafts, concerts and fairs, and learn about holidays and mitzvot. They pack food for those in need, meet authors, make hamentashen, and visit a farm, bookstores, synagogues and so much more.”
“If you or someone you know hasn’t yet signed up for PJ Library® and PJ Our Way’sTM free gifts of books and music, join thousands of families in South Palm Beach County to get in on the fun and learning,” said PJ Library® Director, Elana Ostroff.
