Author Daniel Silva and NBC’s Jamie Gangel to Headline Sandler Family Major Gifts Event

An elegant “Evening of Insight and Intrigue” awaits hundreds of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s largest donors at this year’s Sandler Family Major Gifts Event. They’ll gather at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, for a cocktail reception and dinner with an illuminating, inspiring program.

“We’re proud and excited to be celebrating our guests’ dedication with three prominent, engrossing speakers,” said Ivan Gefen, who is co-chairing the event with his wife Linda, with Debra and Larry Halperin, and with Phyllis (of blessed memory) and Cliff Seresky. “We’re featuring a dynamic conversation between New York Times bestselling author of Israeli spy novels, Daniel Silva, and his wife, NBC award-winning journalist, Jamie Gangel. We’ll also have a special Middle East briefing with Soner Cagaptay, Ph.D., renowned expert on Turkey at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy.”

“For 35 years, our Federation has been feeding the hungry, caring for our elderly and disabled, educating the next generation, providing comfort and brightening lives among neighbors, in Israel and around the world,” said Cliff Seresky. “And we couldn’t possibly do it without the overwhelming compassion and leadership of our major donors. Acting on their deeply held values, they are the pillars of our Annual Campaign.”

“This prestigious annual fundraising event once again pays highest tribute to these champions of our community,” said Debra Halperin. “On proud display will be our esteemed Ketubah Society Hall of Fame, whose members have contributed a cumulative $1 million dollars or more to our Federation’s Annual Campaigns throughout its history. The Ketubah Society is led by the Sandlers, the largest family donors in the history of our Federation’s Annual Campaign, and for whom this event is most aptly named.”

The evening’s $135 couvert includes valet parking. Cocktail attire is requested, and dietary laws will be observed. A minimum $10,000 household gift to the UJA/Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s 2015 Annual Campaign is required to attend.
