A Grand Opening for the Ted & Barbara Wolk Spa and Fitness Center at Sinai Residences of Boca Raton

At the June 22 Grand Opening of the Ted & Barbara Wolk Spa and Fitness Center, Federation’s new neighbors at Sinai Residences of Boca Raton had a full view of the facilities and services they will now enjoy on a daily basis. The luxurious setting offers an array of professional services for women and men, and a high-end resort quality pool and patio area as part of the Residences’ top tier amenities.

Naming the Spa and Fitness Center with a $1 million gift, Ted and Barbara Wolk have been the first to leave a legacy through one of the prestigious opportunities at Sinai Residences of Boca Raton. The Wolks were proudly on hand at the earlier overall Grand Opening of Sinai Residences, which honored the couple and included a special dedication of the spa building.

Longtime Federation donors and members of the King David and Ketubah Societies, the Wolks have called South Palm Beach County their home for about sixteen years. Initially “snowflakes,” they gradually moved here from Boston.

“We had been active with the Federation (Combined Jewish Philanthropies/CJP) in Boston, but quickly became more engaged here through The Polo Club,” said Barbara. Their philanthropy here in South Palm Beach County has also included naming the therapy waiting room at the JFS Weisman Delray Community Center.

The Wolks trace their philanthropic roots to their childhood homes, where their parents instilled the responsibility of caring for Jews in need. “Among our earliest memories are the tin tzedakah cans of different colors,” said Ted. “We are so grateful to be able to do what we can now,” said Barbara. “It’s a blessing to our family to give back to our community and our people.”

The luxurious 23-acre Sinai Residences senior living complex is located on the multigenerational campus of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and owned by a subsidiary corporation. A Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Sinai Residences is a planned Life Care Community with a state-of-the-art active continuum of retirement living from independent residences through assisted living and memory care suites, and skilled nursing care - engaging residents physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually with top quality facilities and programming. Sinai residents can age in place with security; housing, health care, gourmet and kosher dining, amenities and services all provided for them. As a Life Care community, residents are guaranteed access to every level of care at a predictable monthly cost, and with refundable entry-fee options.

In addition, Sinai Residences will bring the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County additional revenue for decades to come. These funds will allow the Federation to further its mission by increasing aid to those in need in South Palm Beach County, in Israel and around the world; and to advance Jewish continuity and engagement.

“Sinai Residences is a momentous symbol for the entire Jewish Community,” said Ted. “It not only provides state-of-the-art senior living for its residents, but also enables the Federation to meet more vital needs of our neighbors and our people. Our gift brings us great joy and satisfaction, and we encourage others to consider leaving their own far-reaching legacies through the remaining unique giving opportunities.”
