Major Gifts Is A Major Success

About the Event
More than 350 Federation supporters came out to the Polo Club on December 7 for the Sandler Family Major Gifts event. Guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail reception, dinner and an inspiring keynote address by world renowned architect and artist Daniel Libeskind, author of Breaking Ground: An Immigrant's Journey from Poland to Ground Zero. Libeskind, born to Holocaust survivors in Poland, shared fascinating details of his transformative journey, describing how his unique experience as an immigrant and his Jewish identity were both powerful guiding forces in his personal life and professional career. During his riveting speech and visual presentation, he revealed how he incorporates Jewish symbolism into every project he has worked on, from the Jewish Museum in Berlin to his recent redevelopment of the World Trade Center in New York City.

Longtime Federation major philanthropist and leader Rani Garfinkle also delivered a compelling appeal that highlighted the incredible, life-saving work that Federation does locally and around the world. The event, named for Phyllis & Harvey Sandler and family, was chaired by Elaine & Bernie Roberts and Naomi & Rich Steinberg. Thank you to our event sponsors, MBAF, Proskauer, and Steinberg Global Asset Management Ltd., and our in-kind sponsors, Atlas Party Rental, The Boca Raton Observer, and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
