Israel’s Birthday Brings Music, Dance, Flags and More to Campus

About the Event
Federation’s Dedication Plaza turned into a celebration zone during Yom HaAtzmaut, Israel’s 69th anniversary of statehood.

There was music, flags and parades as DKJA Donna Klein Jewish Academy students led energetic Israeli dancing throughout the morning and early afternoon – with the Levis JCC Betty & Marvin Zale Early Childhood Learning Center preschoolers, residents of JARC and senior housing on campus, parents and Federation campus employees joining in the fun.

Silvio Berlfein of Horah Entertainment to led the campus celebration and DKJA students also showcased informational booths and activities on Israeli technology, science and culture. Students also enjoyed refreshments and snacks, including homemade pita bread baked on site.

On the Katz Hillel Day School of Boca Raton campus, students danced, participated in a flag display, decorated cookies, enjoyed an outdoor picnic, bounce houses, and more.
