2022 Granting Wishes Reception
About the Event
The Jewish Women’s Foundation (JWF) of South Palm Beach County hosted its annual Granting Wishes reception on April 1, 2022, at The Polo Club of Boca Raton. Granting Wishes celebrates the culmination of a year-long grant process, showcasing grant recipients from local and Israeli organizations with a focus on Jewish women and children’s programs that promote economic security, legal reform, education, leadership development, health, and abuse prevention.
The event attracted the largest crowd in JWF’s history. Close to 200 guests from across the Jewish community learned about JWF’s ten grant awards for 2022 at the sold-out event co-chaired by Laurie Kamhi, a fourth-year Trustee, and Harriet Kimball, a seventh-year Trustee. Since the inception of Granting Wishes more than 16 years ago, JWF has awarded 165 grants, totaling $1,600,565. Critical funding has been allocated to 50 local and global organizations, impacting more than 35,000 lives. This year, nine local organizations and one Israeli foundation received a total of $105,000.
Featured speaker, Haley Moss, inspired the audience. Moss, a University of Miami law school graduate, passed the bar and is Florida’s first openly autistic attorney. Recently featured on the Today Show, Moss spoke eloquently for 20 minutes, without notes or a teleprompter, and captivated the crowd. She is an exceptional speaker who continues to challenge barriers.
