PJ Library Does A Mitzvah (January 19, 2015)

About the Event
A sold-out crowd of more than 50 parents, grandparents and children came together at the Jacobson Family Food Pantry at JFS on January 19, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Every family walked in with multiple bags of food to donate.

The morning began with the much-loved PJ Library® book, Bagels for Benny read to us by guest reader, Rabbi Glenn Ettman - the new Campus Rabbi at Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach and a brand new PJ Dad.

Then, the group got busy stocking the shelves, bagging food for delivery to families in need, making Tzedakah Boxes and enjoying other crafts. The children learned hands-on the importance of doing a mitzvah and understood how vital it is to give back to the community. PJ Library families look forward to sharing many more of these mitzvah opportunities!

The PJ Library®-South Palm Beach County Partnership is made possible by generous support from the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, Union for Reform Judaism, Leon and Toby Cooperman Family Foundation, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, The Jewish Women’s Foundation and local donors.
