Jewish Women’s Foundation to Announce Grants at Reception with Award-Winning Journalists Who Co-Founded The MOMS

The Jewish Women’s Foundation (JWF) of South Palm Beach County will host its 2018 Granting Wishes evening on Wednesday, March 14 at 5:30 p.m. Gathered at the beautiful, just-updated Boca Rio Golf Club, 22041 Boca Rio Road in Boca Raton, guests will be first to learn about JWF’s 2018 grant awards. They’ll also hear from the award-winning Jewish journalists who co-founded The MOMS.

“We are delighted to have Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein as our 2018 Granting Wishes guest speakers,” said Amy Rosenberg, who is co-chairing the event with Randee Rubenstein. “The multi-platform The MOMS lifestyle brand is featured on TV, radio, podcasts, online, in print, and in taxicabs. Their Mamarazzi® town hall events provide mothers and media with access to celebrities to discuss meaningful parenting topics. Denise also prominently chronicles her ongoing journey with breast cancer and was the recipient of the 2017 Susan G. Komen NY Impact Award.”

“We’re proud to welcome women from all across the Jewish community to celebrate our 2018 grant awards,” said Co-Chair Rubenstein. JWF wishes are granted through a highly judicious process to fund programs that create social change. Over fourteen years, JWF has awarded more than $1.2 million to fund initiatives that help women and children in areas related to education, health, abuse prevention and economic security.”

"These dollars are donations from the JWF Trustees who contribute a minimum of $2,000 per year for five years, and determine the programs to fund,” said JWF Chair Alice Kemper. “Each of us has a choice of where to put our time, resources and money. In this critical time for women and children, JWF, with our hands-on philanthropy grant process, advances the lives and opportunities of Jewish women and children locally and abroad. We are highly rewarded and proudly wear the badge of agents of change."

Of JWF’s eleven grants in 2017, five were for projects in Israel, and six were allocated locally to: March of the Living for a program that bonds students and others with Holocaust survivors; the PJ Our WayTM tween reading program; Jewish Association for Residential Care for their Gardeners and Bubbes Program; Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options for their Young Women’s Partnership; KidSafe Foundation for Protecting Our Children; and Yeshivat Maharat for Leadership Development.

The Granting Wishes Reception includes an array of heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts and wine, with dietary laws observed. The couvert is $85 per person, and all are welcome to attend.
