$100,000 in Grants to Local and Israeli Projects Announced by Local Jewish Women’s Foundation at Reception

The Jewish Women’s Foundation (JWF) of South Palm Beach County hosted its sixteenth annual Granting Wishes Cocktail Reception on March 12 at Boca Rio Golf Club. More than 160 guests from across the Jewish community were the first to learn about JWF’s $100,000 in 2019 grant awards (see list below) to organizations in the local community and in Israel.

The guests also heard from noted educator, businesswoman and social entrepreneur, Barbara Greenspan Shaiman. They honored Alice Kemper for her extraordinary five years of strategic leadership as JWF Chair, and welcomed Randee Rubenstein as rising Chair. And they enjoyed an abundant array of hors d’oeuvres, food stations, desserts and wine in an elegant and warm atmosphere.

“Over sixteen years, JWF has awarded more than 145 grants totaling over $1.3 million to fund initiatives that help women and children in areas related to education, health, abuse prevention and economic security,” shared Alana Hoch, who co-chaired the evening with Miriam Atzmon. “With the personal contributions of nearly 100 founding and current Trustees, our work has impacted 25,000 lives through 105 local and international organizations.”

“At JWF we are truly hands-on philanthropists,” added Atzmon. “We welcome you to join our amazing group of dedicated, smart, philanthropic women who are determined to make a difference in the lives of women and children. Our Trustees, who contribute a minimum of $2,000 per year for five years, pool their funds and engage in an intensive process to decide collectively which organizations would accomplish the most with our grants. Others are also welcome to contribute to JWF.”

Greenspoon Marder is the generous 2019 Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation Sponsor. The Granting Wishes Reception was generously sponsored by BNY Wealth Management and Boca Raton Regional Hospital. The Boca Raton Observer was Exclusive Magazine Sponsor, and In-Kind Sponsors were Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and Steve Greenseid Catering.
