Local estate planning professionals committed to philanthropic giving, the community and the Jewish future will once again honor their own at the Irving Eckhardt Mitzvah Society Cocktail Reception at 6:00 pm, Monday, April 18, 2016 at Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton. The Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) of the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation (JJCF) of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, and event Co-Chairs Marjorie A. Horwin and David Pratt invite colleagues, friends and others to join them for cocktails and dinner in tribute to 2016 Mitzvah Society Honoree Elyssa Kupferberg.

They’ll also pay tribute to the memory of Irving Eckhardt, for whom the Mitzvah Society was recently named. “With the largest unrestricted gift ever received by the JJCF, Mr. Eckhardt, who passed away at 91 late in 2014, left a way for the community to remember him forever— by creating a lasting Jewish legacy,” reflected Matthew C. Levin, Federation President & CEO. “Now and far into the future, his great vision and generosity will further Jewish interests and benefit so many Jewish people who will never know this modest man.”

For twelve years, the Mitzvah Society has recognized estate professionals who have been instrumental in guiding their clients to make planned gifts to the JJCF through the vehicles most appropriate to their particular circumstances. The JJCF develops permanent resources to assure the continuity of Jewish life, programs and services locally, in Israel and throughout the world.

Honored for her dedicated efforts in these areas will be the 2016 Mitzvah Society Honoree, Elyssa Kupferberg. For three decades, Elyssa has built a career in banking and finance, working for Chase Manhattan Bank, then BNY Mellon. In 2013, Elyssa joined Barclays, now Stifel, as a Director/Investments. Currently JJCF’s Create a Jewish Legacy Co-Chair, she previously chaired the PAC and Development. She was the 2013 JFNA National Endowment Achievement Award recipient.

“Elyssa is a tireless, highly skilled professional who has clearly demonstrated a powerful desire to ensure the future well-being and security of our community and our people,” said JJCF Chair Richard Steinberg. “An endowed Lion of Judah herself, she has introduced many wealth management clients to planned giving and has inspired and mentored numerous estate planning professionals to do the same.”

The Reception couvert is $65 per person, and dietary laws will be observed. For additional information or to RSVP, contact Lisbeth Rock Cauff at 561.852.3188 or lisbethc@bocafed.org.
