Young Adult Division (YAD) Members Spend a Night Giving Back (November 20, 2014)

About the Event
The Jacobson Family Food Pantry at JFS in Delray Beach provided an unusual YAD Happy Hour setting and an opportunity to spend an evening helping local residents in need of food. Young adults in their 20s to early 40s headed to the Pantry with food to donate on November 20, 2014. At the pantry, a project of Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS), attendees learned more about their impact on our community from Emily Einhorn, YAD Social Action Chair and Cindy Orbach Nimhauser, Vice President and Chief Development Officer at JFS.

Afterwards, the group prepared custom food packages for client deliveries including Thanksgiving cards for the recipients. Attendees also made thank you cards for members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) who are part of the Lone Soldier program, which is funded by our Federation through the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI).

The young adults enjoyed drinks and snacks as they got to socialize and network as well. For more information about YAD activities, visit jewishboca.org/yad or contact Brian Sarran at 561.852.3165 or brians@bocafed.org.
