Spirits, Speakers, Cuba Mission & More Await Men Who Care

Men who care about premium time together as well as helping the community have more to enjoy with the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s new Men’s Division this season. While exploring sports, business, politics, fine spirits and travel, they’re also strengthening a fellowship of strong, connected men who are building a legacy through Federation.

All men are invited to Sip, Savor & Smoke at Prime Cigar & Wine Bar for a high-end evening including exclusive scotch samplings at 6:00 pm on October 13, at a couvert of $36. Then, on November 19 at St. Andrews Country Club, those who contribute $180+ to Federation’s Annual Campaign will enjoy a prominent speaker amid great food and drinks, following a VIP Reception for $1800+ donors.

Enthusiasm and support from people like Division Co-chairs Stuart Ganslaw, Peter Wohlgemuth and Gary Rubin are what started this new initiative and have enabled this group to take root quickly. "After the terrific program and companionship at our inaugural spring event with basketball great Walt Frazier, I’m looking forward to continuing the momentum with another high-profile speaker and well-subscribed gathering of guys who care,” said Rubin. “Together, our men are creating a better today and tomorrow for our community and our people through Federation with great times and great pride.” Other division founders are: Don Brodie, Alan Cornell, Mark Dern, Bryan Drowos, Arthur Goldberg, Stewart Kasen, David Katzman, Chester Kay, David Kirschner, Chuck Lichtman, Joseph Mishkin and Jeffrey Newman.

Winter will bring an exclusive opportunity for local men to spend three days in Cuba. Starting January 29, thirty men who contribute $1800+ to the Annual Campaign will experience a private tour of vibrant Havana including its historic Jewish community.

“Our Men’s Mission to Cuba will be an eye-opening, not-to-be-missed experience,” said Mark Dern, who visited the island last year on a Federation Mission for Major Donors. “It’s amazing how a 90-mile plane ride can take you to such a different world with such history and beauty as well as a thriving and proud small Jewish community. Hopefully over time, more Americans will have the opportunity to visit this incredible destination. Of course, doing so as part of a group mission makes the experience even more memorable.”

The Men’s Division is sponsored by BNY Mellon. Boca Raton Observer is Exclusive Magazine Sponsor for the fall events.
