Egyptian Political Expert Discusses Arab Spring During EJP Outreach Event

About the Event
Emerging Jewish Philanthropist’s outreach event examined the politics behind the 2011 “Arab Spring,” as presented by guest speaker, Professor Eric Trager. An expert on Egyptian politics and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Prof. Trager is also the author of “Arab Fall: How the Muslim Brotherhood Won and Lost Egypt in 891 Days.”

Held in the home of Gayle and Chuck Lichtman, EJP Co-Chairs Michele and Larry Blair welcomed everyone to the start of our 2017 Federation Campaign season, shared the upcoming events planned for EJP and encouraged everyone to get their friends involved.

Women’s Philanthropy Chair, April Leavy, gave an overview of Federation and shared her personal story about why she is involved in the organization.

Guests to this intimate event heard about Prof. Trager’s interviews with leaders in Egypt's government, military, political parties, media, and civil society, and his experiences in Egypt during the 2011 anti-Mubarak revolts.

Guests had ample time to speak with Dr. Trager and ask in-depth questions about his experiences and insights.

EJP is a place for younger families and individuals making a $10,000 gift to our Federation’s Annual Campaign to come together to express their common Jewish values as they help strengthen our growing community with an increasing sense of mission and purpose. There is an opportunity to hear about the work of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, and enjoy the programs and events exclusively for EJP including concerts, intimate gatherings at donors’ homes, art tours and private meetings with select speakers.
