A Moving Film and Tribute During This Year’s Kristallnacht Film Forum
About the Event
March of the Living and the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County hosted their annual film forum on November 12, in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of Kristallnacht. The film Loving Henri was screened at two different showings, each drawing close to 400 people. Loving Henri tells the powerful story of Holocaust survivor Henri Landwirth, a man who devoted his life to helping those who have nothing, but struggled to free himself from his difficult past, exploring timeless psychological and spiritual questions. Each showing was followed by a panel discussion featuring Lisa Landwirth Ullman, daughter of Henri; film producer David Haspel; and film director Robert Black, who all shared insights about the making of the film and its backstory. More than 250 guests also attended a private donor reception commemorating Kristallnacht and honoring local Holocaust survivors, as well as Mark and Joan Mendel, long-time March of the Living supporters.
