Women of all ages from throughout the Jewish community are invited to two opportunities to hear the remarkable Dafna Michaelson Jenet and to open the women’s season for the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County on November 16, 2016. The morning program including a buffet breakfast will be held at The Polo Club, 5030 Champion Boulevard in Boca Raton; registration will start at 9:30 am, and the program will begin at 10:00. The evening program will be held over dessert and light bites at the Weisman Delray Community Center at 7091 W. Atlantic Ave. in Delray Beach; registration will begin at 7:00 pm, and the program will start at 7:30. The couvert for each program is $45. No minimum gift is required and there will be no solicitation.

Jenet’s book, It takes a little crazy to make a difference, chronicles this young, then newly single mother’s jumping off the path and hitting the road for the 52 weeks of one year to visit all 50 US states and conduct more than 500 interviews. Through this extraordinary experience, she forged a new life built on inspiring others with the stories of ordinary people solving problems in their communities, neighborhoods, businesses and lives and changing the world one by one.

“We are delighted to offer two such unique and valuable opportunities for our community’s women to learn and grow together,” said the morning’s Co-Chair Melinda Friedman. “We extend our warmest welcome to newcomers and we look forward to reconnecting with many familiar faces as we gear up to make a difference in the New Year.”

“Jenet has gone on to create the Journey Institute, through which, with powerful stories, wisdom and laughter, she empowers others to change the world, by illuminating the path to change their own stories,” said the morning’s Co-Chair Liza Wainger.

“These programs on November 16 will be a fitting kickoff to our season’s theme, “Women of Intention,” as our women form a strong, active sisterhood that is deeply committed to changing lives locally, in Israel and around the world,” said Marcia Beckerman, Women’s Philanthropy Vice Chair, Education.

“Together, our women form a supportive community for learning, growing, bonding, advocating and celebrating. With Dafna Michaelson Jenet, we continue our tradition of hosting meaningful programs with enlightening speakers throughout the year on topics important to our Jewish community of women.”

Wells Fargo Private Bank is the generous sponsor of the Dorothy Seaman Department of Women’s Philanthropy that is presenting the program. The Boca Raton Observer is Exclusive Magazine Sponsor of the event.

Dafna Michaelson Jenet

“There was a little girl and she had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good she was very, very good, when she was bad she was…” Sure, you know the rest. When Dafna Michaelson Jenet was growing up her mother and grandmother both loved to sing that song to wavy haired Dafna. Her matriarchs being the two greatest influences in her life, Dafna exchanged the ending of that verse with: adventurous, risk taking, life altering, passion living, difference making.

Dafna’s book “It takes a little crazy to make a difference” is about jumping off the path and hitting the road for the 52 weeks of one year to visit all 50 US states and forging a new life built on telling the empowering stories of ordinary people solving problems in their communities, neighborhoods, businesses, lives, and one by one changing the world. She can teach you to do the same. Whether you have curls or not, Dafna will illuminate the path to the power you possess to change your story.

Dafna Michaelson is the founder and Journeywoman behind the 50 in 52 Journey in which she traveled to all 50 United States and Washington D.C within the 52 weeks of one year to find, highlight, and elevate ordinary people doing extraordinary things, solving problems and building community.

As an Author, Speaker, TEDx speaker and TEDxCrestmoorpark Curator, Dafna continues the work she began with the 50in52 Journey to inspire others to action. She does not simply speak to her audiences, she elevates, empowers, and engages them through storytelling, motivational recounting of her nationwide journey, and inspires them to action so that they too can be empowered to make changes in their communities, their workplaces, their families, and their lives.

Dafna received her MBA from the Daniels College of Business in 2001, and is the President and co-Founder of the Journey Institute. Dafna works with small business owners, entrepreneurs and educational faculties to strengthen the core operations of their business settings through motivating their human talent. Dafna utilizes systems she developed following her travels to all 50 states to find the secrets accomplished problem solvers use to create success in workplace and community.

Dafna has been interviewed by the late Maya Angelou and has been featured by CBS Sunday Morning, the Denver Post, NPR and CNN.com. She has traveled around the world to empower people of all ages into action.
