Description

Congregation Shaarei Kodesh, in partnership with HIAS, presents a movie screening of "abUSed: The Postville Raid," a documentary by Luis Argueta about the 2008
raid by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on the AgriProcessors kosher slaughterhouse in Postville, Iowa.

The film tells the story of the 389 people arrested on suspicion of immigration violations and how their lives were impacted. A facilitated discussion about immigration will follow the screening.

This film is presented as part of CSK's partnership in the HIAS Welcome Campaign, a nationwide effort of 380 synagogues to build understanding about the causes and effects of the worldwide refugee crisis and foster communities that welcome newcomers, regardless of their background or circumstances.
